Light Up Phuket: 7th Tsunami Memorial Service

On Monday 26th December pastors and members of PCC joined Mayor Paiboon Upatising at Patong Beach for the 7th Tsunami Memorial together with the Governor of Phuket and the Consular General of The Netherlands.  As the crowds gathered to remember and mourn the loss of loved ones at this "Light Up Phuket" remembrance service, Pastor Brian led us in observing a one minute silence for those who had lost their lives in the disaster. After reading from Isaiah 61:1 – 3, he led us in a prayer to comfort those who mourned and then proclaimed a blessing upon the island of Phuket, residents and visitors alike.

Phuket, you are beautiful. You are the Pearl of the Andaman Sea. You are destined to be a Light to this Nation. Phuket, may you receive the blessing of God upon you. A better future is in store for you as we light up Phuket, and take every opportunity to bring hope to this island.

Once again, it was a very solemn and moving time as the service concluded with everyone joining together to light candles and place them together with bouquets of flowers at strategic points along the beach.

Sussex House celebrates Christmas

Christmas came to Sussex House when the Millenium Hotel GM and staff put on a 5 star buffet meal, with Santa giving presents to the children.  Five of the children were celebrating Christmas for the first time, including our newest twins... Min & Mack.

Joint Churches Christmas event

Phuket transformation churches joined together to celebrate Christmas on 10th December.  This was held at Ratchabat University with a special programme for both adults and children, and the evening was opened by  Mayor Paiboon Upatising.  While the children enjoyed various activities such as face painting, balloon sculpting, and a testimony from PCC’s own Joshua Ferrer, the adults were treated to a variety of Thai dances set to Christian music and Christmas carols. Pastor Tongchai Pradabchananurut from Church of Joy, Bangkok, was the special speaker for the evening, and for many this was the first time they had heard the Christmas message.  To close the evening he lead everyone in singing Happy Birthday to Pastor Brian and others who were celebrating their birthdays in December.

Flood Disaster Relief

Following the floods in Bangkok we contacted the Red Cross, led by the wife of the Governor of Phuket, Khun Nalinee Akkaradeja, and made a donation of food, clothes and medicine. Khun Nalinee was one of our special guests on Christmas Day at our morning service.
