Joint Baan Kate Asajaan and Morgen Christmas Celebration - Thursday 23rd December 2010 - by Margaret J Burton
|
'Twas the day before Christmas Eve and all definitely was not quiet as we celebrated Christmas with our church family in PhangNga Province! The Morgen Sea Gypsies joined with our Takua Pa and Baan Kate Asajaan believers for a great time of fun, food and fellowship. For the Morgens, this was their fifth Christmas following their salvation after the Tsunami. For those in Baan Kate Asajaan, in the village that we built for 28 families, this was their first Christmas. The Morgens treated us to a Christmas song, and the members of the Baan Kate Asajaan village put on a Nativity Play. They had constructed a wooden manger scene especially for this! Following some fun games, Pastor Brian gave a short Christmas message, after which Santa Claus made a surprise appearance and gave out gifts to everyone. Food was then served and enjoyed by all. Amidst all the Christmas festivities there we also dedicated 5 babies! Three out of five of these babies had been abandoned by their earthly fathers; this could be sad in itself, but for the fact that these babies were dedicated to Father God. Because of God's gift to us of His Son, Jesus, there is a place for them in God's family. Wanlapa (the Ice Cream Lady)... leads the Ice-Cream Man to the Lord
