Tsunami Archive - New Life Foundation Projects - Phuket International Hospital

Many of the members of Phuket Christian Centre worked closely with the hospital during the week immediately following the tsunami. The hospital was overwhelmed by injured survivors and so many people were accommodated at the church. Daily transportation to the hospital was provided for wounds to be cleaned and dressed. Church members also helped relatives search for missing loved ones on the hospital database, and visited the injured on the wards. Pastor Brian was involved in organising a memorial service at the hospital to help survivors begin the grieving process and to offer words of hope.

Pastor Brian addresses patients, hospital staff and volunteers at the Memorial Service, in front of the world press. Pastor Nok translates his words into Thai.

In-patients come down from the wards to attend the service in memory of loved ones lost.

The press relay the story around the world.
