Pastor Brian in Kota Kinabalu and Sibu – March

In March Pastor Brian went on a 10 day trip to East Malaysia where he spoke for 3 days in Kota Kinabalu, before moving on to Sibu for 7 days. It was an intense schedule including preaching in the Bible school in the mornings, praying at different locations in the afternoons, preaching in the church in the evenings, together with meeting various business people in the city.

On the final Saturday there was no Bible school so Pastor Brian was taken to an Iban long-house where he had the opportunity to meet the Chief. This was a great experience as Pastor Brian used to teach about the Iban in his days as a school teacher in England.

During the trip he experienced 2 flight cancelations and 1 delayed flight, and when he started the return journey the wheel fell off the plane! Finally he arrived home safe and sound!

New Year Baptisms

On New Year’s Day, after the morning service, PCC members gathered together at Nai Yang Beach to witness the baptism of 43 new members.  A record for PCC!

Extraordinary miracles!

This has been a year of extraordinary miracles.  In September, a young girl with pneumonia died at the local hospital and was taken to the morgue.  Her grandma, Jim of our Urak Rawoi church went to see her only to be told that she was dead.  She went into the morgue and cried out to Jesus just as the girl was about to be injected with formaldehyde.  She got up and to prove it was a genuine miracle, she rose from the dead free of pneumonia!

In December, Kord came to PCC for the first time and testified to the healing power of God after a severe accident left a steel bar through his lungs, heart and stomach.  Doctors said he could not possibly survive, but when Wanlapa (The Ice-Cream Lady) prayed for him on the telephone he was healed.

Light Up Phuket: 7th Tsunami Memorial Service

On Monday 26th December pastors and members of PCC joined Mayor Paiboon Upatising at Patong Beach for the 7th Tsunami Memorial together with the Governor of Phuket and the Consular General of The Netherlands.  As the crowds gathered to remember and mourn the loss of loved ones at this "Light Up Phuket" remembrance service, Pastor Brian led us in observing a one minute silence for those who had lost their lives in the disaster. After reading from Isaiah 61:1 – 3, he led us in a prayer to comfort those who mourned and then proclaimed a blessing upon the island of Phuket, residents and visitors alike.

Phuket, you are beautiful. You are the Pearl of the Andaman Sea. You are destined to be a Light to this Nation. Phuket, may you receive the blessing of God upon you. A better future is in store for you as we light up Phuket, and take every opportunity to bring hope to this island.

Once again, it was a very solemn and moving time as the service concluded with everyone joining together to light candles and place them together with bouquets of flowers at strategic points along the beach.

Phuket transformation churches joined together to celebrate Christmas on 10th December.  This was held at Ratchabat University with a special programme for both adults and children, and the evening was opened by  Mayor Paiboon Upatising.  While the children enjoyed various activities such as face painting, balloon sculpting, and a testimony from PCC’s own Joshua Ferrer, the adults were treated to a variety of Thai dances set to Christian music and Christmas carols. Pastor Tongchai Pradabchananurut from Church of Joy, Bangkok, was the special speaker for the evening, and for many this was the first time they had heard the Christmas message.  To close the evening he lead everyone in singing Happy Birthday to Pastor Brian and others who were celebrating their birthdays in December.

Report on 21st Transform Our World Global Conference - Hawaii 4 - 8 October 2011

Pastor Margaret Burton

'Do not despise small beginnings' was the theme for this year's annual Transform Our World global conference set in Honolulu on the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii. It was a gathering of people from all walks of life and many nations, with Dr Ed Silvoso and an international faculty from 6 continents - ordinary people doing extraordinary things for God. Making the world a better place, starting with their own sphere of influence. Once again, Dr Ed & Ruth Silvoso were our wonderful hosts for the week, and did a superb job of creating a close and precious family atmosphere in which we were able to relax, renew, refresh and yet at the same time be challenged to rise up to a higher level. During the week our church vision came to mind more than once and I was encouraged to see how it is being fulfilled. Truly we are: an influential body of people dedicated to the transformation of nations; a source of encouragement and blessing not only to our city and nation, but to the whole world; travelling all over the world as part of our global commitment to nation transformation. I realized once again just what an influence we had around the world, what a blessing we are and how people are inspired, challenged and encouraged when they hear our transformation testimonies. I was so blessed by other conference delegates, especially those I met for the first time, who came to tell me how blessed they had been by hearing about us. They were challenged to go home and start to make a difference in their sphere of influence. I was able to encourage more than one to believe that what was happening here could definitely happen in their church, in their town, in their nation. We were reminded again of the importance of knowing our true identity in God. One thing that Dr Ed Silvoso said that really impacted me was "Don't embarrass your father by behaving like a hired hand." We are not slaves, but we are precious sons and daughters of our Father God. He welcomes us to live with Him in His palace, not as His servants but as His children. We belong to His family, and we are all loved unconditionally. We need to move out of the servants' quarters and into the palace! We all need each other - right from the oldest to the youngest, and can all learn from each other and bless each other. God can use even the youngest amongst us to bless us. I saw this in action on the very last day of the conference when one of Dr Ed and Ruth Silvoso's grandsons, in total confidence because he knew who he was in God, reached out and began to pray for and bless the conference delegates! Once again, this wasn't just another conference experience it was yet another challenge to step up a level, to be inspired, to do bigger and better things for God.
